First Things First by John Trombley

Papers are piling up on your desk. Unread emails flood your inbox. The phone won’t stop ringing. Deadlines loom, and you feel like you’re drowning.

“I need better time management skills,” you think.

John Trombley, The Village Business Institute’s Consulting and Training Manager, may disagree. To him, it’s not necessarily about time management. After all, you can’t make more minutes in the day, and you can’t make the clock tick any slower (or faster).

Rather, he says, we need to manage our priorities.

By putting first things first, you may find your work and home life go far more smoothly.

“Once you get your priorities straight, and you act on your priorities, you’ll find that you have more time, more energy, and more enthusiasm for the work that you do.” – John Trombley, VBI Consulting and Training Manager
