Teenage girls who struggle with low self-confidence and self-esteem are encouraged to take part in the Girls 360º Groups being offered by The Village Family Service Center this summer in both Crookston and St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Girls 360º Group educates girls ages 13 to 17 on a full spectrum of issues affecting their life, including self-esteem, healthy relationships, assertiveness, decision-making, risk-taking, and positive self-image. Weekly activities include guest speakers, crafts and videos. A mental health professionals from The Village facilitate the groups. Thanks to grant funding, The Village is able to offer these groups for free.
The Village's Grand Forks office will lead the Girls 360º Group in Crookston. It will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, July 10 through Aug. 21, at the Crookston Government Center, 612 N. Broadway. To register, call The Village at (701) 746-4584.
The St. Cloud Girls 360º Group will meet at The Village, 110 6th Ave. S., #100, St. Cloud. It begins July 11 and meets from 10 a.m. to noon on the following dates: July 11, July 18, July 26; Aug. 1, Aug. 8, Aug. 15, Aug. 22 and Aug. 29. (All are Wednesdays except Thursday, July 26.) The Village has offices in 15 communities across North Dakota and Minnesota. Its programs and services include counseling, addiction treatment, in-home family therapy, mentoring, pregnancy counseling, truancy intervention, financial counseling, employee assistance programs, and business training.
