New group programming in Fargo fills gap in area psychiatric services
FARGO – The Village Family Service Center announces the launch of its Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a new option in the Red River Valley for adults with mental health challenges.
IOP serves as a bridge in services. It can be the transition down from a partial or inpatient hospitalization, or an option for those exiting chemical dependency treatment who have ongoing mental health needs. IOP also can help people who need more support than individual counseling, preventing the need for higher levels of care. It can be temporary support during challenging times, for example, helping someone who has been recently diagnosed with a physical or mental health condition accept his or her circumstances.
This is a confidential program during which clients receive education and support, develop coping skills, and problem solve ongoing stressors in a group setting. Education topics can include wellness, self-care, relationships, communication, mindfulness and safety planning.
IOP meets four days a week for three hours a day at The Village, 1201 25th St. S., Fargo. It is facilitated by licensed, experienced behavioral health professionals, including a Clinical Nurse Specialist who provides medication management. Most insurances are accepted, and payment plans are available.

The Village is based in Fargo and has offices in 15 communities across North Dakota and Minnesota. Its programs and services include counseling, addiction treatment, in-home family therapy, mentoring, adoption services, pregnancy counseling, truancy intervention, financial counseling, employee assistance programs and business training.
