The Village Family Service Center and Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota partnered in 1999 to provide adoption-related services across the state. This collaboration, known as The Adoption Option, served thousands of North Dakotans for 20-plus years, offering adoption opportunities, pregnancy options counseling, and post-adoption search and disclosure services.
In 2020, Lutheran Social Services of ND made the difficult decision to cease actively providing direct adoption services, ending the collaboration Dec. 31, 2020.
The Village Family Service Center continues to offer adoption and pregnancy options counseling across North Dakota as well as post-adoption search and disclosure services. This includes providing search and disclosure services for clients of LSSND, which announced its closure Jan. 15, 2021. LSSND adoption records have been transferred to The Village for permanent storage. Members of the adoption triad who wish to update their information with us can fill out the form below.
