FARGO - First Step Recovery of The Village Family Service Center is excited to announce a special celebration in honor of Recovery Month on Tuesday, September 10. This event will feature Thad, a former police sergeant with a powerful story of overcoming mental health challenges and his journey from addiction to recovery.
With over two decades of experience in law enforcement, he faced immense stress and trauma, ultimately leading to his battle with PTSD and addiction. Through courage and determination, Thad found the path to recovery and is dedicated to sharing his journey to help others do the same.
The event, emceed by Kevin Wallevand, will allow attendees to hear Thad's inspiring personal story, enjoy music from a local DJ, and engage in yard games with friends.
“Recovery is a journey that takes courage, support, and a strong community. We're thrilled to bring people together to celebrate those who have overcome addiction and to inspire others to begin their own path to recovery. This event is about sharing stories of resilience and showing that recovery is possible for everyone," says Tonya Sorenson, MS LAC, Clinical Supervisor of the First Step Recovery Program.
This celebration is a must-attend for anyone seeking inspiration, support, or insight into the recovery process. Take advantage of this chance to hear from someone who truly understands the struggles and successes of recovery firsthand.
